Our patient, who lost their hand as a result of an unfortunate accident, underwent a 10-hour replantation operation after being transported to our hospital by ambulance helicopter from Finike State Hospital.

In the surgery performed by Op. Dr. Bülent Özgür Yazıcı and Op. Dr. Çetin Köstekçi, who worked in our Orthopedics and Traumatology unit, the damaged sections of our patient’s hand were repaired with the veins and nerves taken from his leg, and sutured back to life without any loss of limb.       

Op. Dr. Bülent Özgür Yazıcı stated that a long rehabilitation process awaits our patient in the next period, that regaining the vital functions would be possible, despite the possibility of that hand as before, and that they will not leave our patient alone in this process and they will perform the necessary follow-ups.

So, this operation, which draws attention in the field of hand surgery and replantation, was also featured in the local and national press.
